How to suspend, unsuspend or log in as a client in DirectAdmin

Before suspending an account

Suspension interrupts the client's website, panel access and email. Record the reason and notify the client where appropriate. DirectAdmin does not bill the client.

Suspend a client account

  1. Sign in to DirectAdmin at reseller level.
  2. Open Account Manager.
  3. Select List Users.
  4. Find the affected username or domain.
  5. Select the user.
  6. Choose Suspend / Unsuspend.
  7. Enter a reason if requested.
  8. Confirm the action.

Unsuspend a client account

  1. Return to the reseller user list.
  2. Find the suspended account.
  3. Select the user.
  4. Choose Suspend / Unsuspend.
  5. Confirm the action.
  6. Test the website and user-level login.

Unsuspending an account does not resolve an unpaid invoice or repair a broken website.

Log in as the client

  1. Open the reseller user list.
  2. Find the client's username.
  3. Select Login as next to the user.
  4. Confirm that DirectAdmin changes to User level.
  5. Complete the authorised work.
  6. Sign out or return to reseller level when finished.

You don't need the client's password when using the reseller login function.

Use client access carefully

User-level access exposes website files, databases, email settings, DNS records, SSL configuration, backups and application details. Access only what is needed and record important changes.
