How to create a package and client account as a DirectAdmin reseller

Sign in at reseller level

Open https://SERVER-HOSTNAME:2222, replacing SERVER-HOSTNAME with your reseller server hostname, and sign in with your DirectAdmin reseller credentials. Confirm that the level selector shows Reseller.

Create a user package

  1. Open Account Manager.
  2. Select Manage User Packages.
  3. Select Add Package.
  4. Enter the package name.
  5. Set its resource limits and features.
  6. Save the package.

Common package settings include:

Setting Purpose
Bandwidth Monthly data-transfer allowance
Disk space Maximum account storage
Domains Number of hosted domains
Subdomains Number of subdomains
Domain pointers Number of aliases or parked domains
Email accounts Number of mailboxes
Email forwarders Number of forwarding addresses
FTP accounts Number of additional FTP users
MySQL databases Number of databases
Cron jobs Whether scheduled tasks are permitted
PHP access Whether PHP websites are permitted
SSL access Whether the user can manage SSL

Do not assign more resources than your reseller plan provides.

SSH is disabled by default. Do not enable shell access unless Webway has approved and enabled it.

Create the client account

  1. Open Account Manager.
  2. Select Add New User.
  3. Enter the client's username.
  4. Enter the client's contact email address.
  5. Generate a strong password.
  6. Enter the client's domain.
  7. Select the package.
  8. Use the assigned shared IP unless Webway has provided another IP.
  9. Review the nameservers.
  10. Create the user.

Keep the default IP and nameservers unless Webway has given you different ones.

Creating the account does not register the domain.

Point the domain to Webway

Change the domain's nameservers to dns1.webway.host and dns2.webway.host. See Point my domain to Webway (change nameservers).

If DNS is managed externally, point the required records to the DirectAdmin server. Ask support for the server IP if you need it.

Check the new account

Log in as the user and confirm that they can open File Manager, create mailboxes and databases, open Softaculous, manage the hosted domain and view SSL settings.

Free Let's Encrypt SSL is issued automatically after the domain resolves to the server.
