How to brand cPanel and WHM for my clients
What can I brand?
The branding options available to a WHM reseller depend on the permissions enabled on the server. You may be able to customise the company name, logo, browser icon, help or support links, contact details, and the client-facing cPanel appearance.
Most branding affects the cPanel interface your clients see. The reseller-level WHM interface may keep Webway or cPanel branding.
Open the customisation settings
- Sign in to WHM on port
2087. - Search for Customization.
- Open the cPanel customisation tool.
- Upload your logo and other permitted images.
- Enter your company details and support links.
- Save the changes.
If a setting isn't shown, it can't be changed from your account. Don't edit server theme files directly.
Prepare branding images
Use clear, lightweight images that work on light and dark backgrounds. Crop empty space, use the dimensions WHM asks for, optimise the file size, and keep an original copy. Preview the result at different browser widths.
Configure contact information
Where permitted, add your business name, support website, support email address, documentation link, and terms or policy links. Make sure your clients contact your business for first-line support.
Set up branded nameservers
Branded nameservers such as ns1.yourbrand.co.za and ns2.yourbrand.co.za need registrar glue records and server-side setup by Webway Support. See How to set up private nameservers for my reseller account.
Don't advertise branded nameservers until Webway confirms they're ready.
Brand your client communications
WHM branding doesn't change welcome emails, invoices, payment reminders, support messages or product descriptions. Configure those in your billing platform. If you use WHMCS, see How to connect WHMCS to my Webway reseller account.
Preview the client experience
- Open List Accounts in WHM.
- Select a test client account.
- Use the cPanel login action.
- Review the logo, links and contact details on desktop and mobile.
- Sign out when finished.
