How to build and publish a website with SitePro

Before you start

SitePro is a visual website builder. You can use it to create pages without writing code.

Before opening it:

  1. Add the domain to your hosting account. See How to add another domain or a subdomain.
  2. Decide whether SitePro will replace an existing website.
  3. Back up any current files and database.

Publishing to a domain that already has a website may overwrite or replace its files.

Open SitePro

  • cPanel: find the Site.Pro website-builder icon and open it.
  • DirectAdmin: open Extra Features → Site.Pro Website Builder.

Select the domain you want to edit.

Choose a template

  1. Browse the available templates.
  2. Preview suitable designs.
  3. Check the desktop and mobile layouts.
  4. Select a template.

Changing templates later may alter or remove layout customisations.

Build your pages

Common pages include Home, About, Services or Products, Contact, Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions.

Use SitePro's editor to add text, images, buttons, columns, menus, maps, forms and social links.

Edit page settings

For each page, review the page title, URL, menu label, search description, visibility and social-sharing image. Use one clear page heading and descriptive link text.

Check the mobile layout

Before publishing:

  1. Switch to the mobile preview.
  2. Check that text is readable.
  3. Confirm that buttons are easy to tap.
  4. Check menus and forms.
  5. Compress oversized images.
  6. Remove empty spaces or overlapping sections.

Configure the contact form

Set the form's destination to an email address you monitor. After publishing, submit a test message, confirm the success message appears, and check the destination inbox and spam folder.

Publish the website

  1. Save your changes.
  2. Preview the website.
  3. Select Publish.
  4. Confirm the destination domain.
  5. Wait for publishing to finish.
  6. Open the public website in a private browser window.

Saving inside the editor does not update the public website until you publish.

Check DNS and SSL

The domain must point to the Webway hosting server before visitors can see the website. See Point my domain to Webway (change nameservers).

Free Let's Encrypt SSL is issued automatically after DNS points correctly. Test both https://example.co.za and https://www.example.co.za.

Before replacing an existing website

Back up the existing website files, databases, configuration files, images and downloads.

SitePro publishes into the domain's website folder, so existing files with the same names are replaced.

Do not publish SitePro over WordPress or another application unless you intend to replace that website.
